The agricultural sector represents about 80 percent of the country’s export. There is a new trend regarding agriculture in Sudan. Large investments in agriculture by acquiring large tracts of most fertile agricultural lands by international companies that belong to China, India, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Gulf and other countries which have interest to invest in agriculture in Sudan.

Agriculture remains a crucial sector in the economy as a major source of raw materials, food and foreign exchange.
